My name is Ana, I am 39 years old. I am from Úbeda (Jaén, Andalusia, South Spain) and I currently reside in Seville. I have always been motivated to help and accompany vulnerable people, especially when their health is affected. That’s why I decided to study Pharmacy, and I have to say that I enjoyed learning in depth about the complex interactions between drugs and the human body. I obtained a degree in Pharmacy in 2006 from the University of Granada.
After a year and a half working as a pharmacist in a rural pharmacy, with the excuse of learning English, I embarked on the adventure of living abroad and went to Ireland. I felt so welcomed there that I stayed indefinitely, working first as a support pharmacist and later as a supervising pharmacist… This has given me a broader professional perspective and it has greatly enriched me personally…But without a doubt, what has marked a before and after in my life is a devastating diagnosis in my own family in 2016. I left what I considered “my life” in Ireland after more than eight years, and I moved back to Madrid in order to dedicate myself to what was really the most important thing for me: CARING. Unfortunately, the “hard way” is how we realize the treasure we have without hardly appreciating it: HEALTH.
Then, everything becomes secondary. Priorities change radically and you realize that any tool within our reach that can improve the quality of life is essential… And it is just as important to take care of the body as the mind, since they go hand in hand in the process of disease…
And here is where an intense path of searching and learning about complementary therapies begins for me, mainly in two fields:
